Case study

A new website for Regans Heating, built to win work across Southeast Kent

Regans Heating & Plumbing are Gas Safe registered engineers covering Southeast Kent. Their old website did not match the quality of their work. We designed and built them a new one that does. Here is exactly what we did, and why.

The client

Skilled engineers, held back by their website

Regans Heating & Plumbing install boilers, air source heat pumps and bathrooms, and handle gas works, servicing and emergency call outs across Southeast Kent, from Folkestone and Dover through to Ashford, Canterbury and Maidstone. The work is excellent. The old website was not selling it.

The old website

Working against them

  • A generic page builder template, not their brand
  • One page trying to sell six different services
  • Little for Google to rank beyond the homepage
  • No clear route from visitor to phone call
  • Nothing about the government heat pump grant

The new website

Working for them

  • A design built from their logo and brand
  • A dedicated page for each of their six services
  • Local pages and schema that Google can read
  • Tap to call, WhatsApp and a quote form on every page
  • A 30 second checker for heat pump grant eligibility

What we built

Every part of the site has one job: the phone ringing

This is our standard approach to web design for a trade business. Show the work honestly, make it effortless to get in touch, and give Google a clear picture of what you do and where.

A design from their brand up

Dark, warm and confident, drawn from the Regans logo. Oversized lettering, gold accents and their real photography. It looks like them, not like a template.

A page for every service

Boiler installations, air source heat pumps, bathrooms, gas works, repairs and servicing, and emergency call outs. Each page answers its own searches instead of fighting the others.

Real jobs, not stock photos

The boilers, bathrooms and underfloor heating in the photos are Regans jobs. A gallery page shows the standard of finish. Trust is built with proof, not promises.

Effortless to get in touch

Tap to call in the header, WhatsApp chat one thumb away, and a short quote form. However a customer prefers to reach out, the route is already under their thumb.

Local SEO built in

Structured data tells Google this is a heating and plumbing business and where it works. Every page has town aware titles and descriptions, and the copy names the areas they serve naturally.

The grant, made simple

Air source heat pumps come with a government grant many homeowners have never heard of. The site explains it in plain English and checks eligibility in about 30 seconds.

The detail

Six services, six clear front doors

A heating firm is really six businesses in one. Someone searching for a new boiler is not the same customer as someone with a burst pipe at midnight. The homepage sorts them fast, and each service page speaks only to its own customer.

Mobile first

Designed for a phone in one hand

Most people looking for a heating engineer are on their phone, often standing next to the problem. So the mobile layout leads with the two things that matter: a call button and a quote button, before a single paragraph of copy.

Trust signals follow immediately. Gas Safe registration, BPEC qualification and same day response are visible without scrolling past them. The WhatsApp button stays in the corner on every page.

This is the same thinking we bring to every small business website we build. Decide what the visitor needs first, and put it first.

How we worked

From brief to live, without the jargon

We started with the business, not the browser. What jobs make Regans the best money? Which areas do they want more work in? What do customers ask before they book? The answers shaped the sitemap, the copy and the design.

1. Listen

We learned the services, the patch and the customers. The six service pages and the town list came straight from that conversation.

2. Design and write

We designed from their brand and wrote every word, including the plain English guide to the heat pump grant. Regans reviewed and approved it all.

3. Build and launch

A fast, hand built WordPress theme with structured data throughout, tested on real phones. Built by our web development team, ready to grow with them.

Questions

Websites for heating engineers and trades: your questions

Yes. The Regans Heating site on this page is one of ours, and the same approach works for any trade: electricians, builders, roofers, landscapers. A page for each service, real photos of your work, tap to call everywhere, and local SEO so the right towns find you.

A separate page for each service you want more of, your Gas Safe registration where people can see it, photos of real jobs, the areas you cover written naturally into the copy, and a way to contact you from every page. If you fit heat pumps, explain the government grant simply. Most competitors do not.

Because customers search for the job, not the trade. Someone types “boiler installation” or “bathroom fitter”, not “heating and plumbing company”. A dedicated page can answer that one search properly, which helps it rank, and helps the visitor feel understood the moment it loads.

A site of this size is typically a few weeks from first chat to launch, depending on how quickly photos and approvals come back. We write the copy for you, so you are not left staring at a blank page. You review, we refine, and it goes live when you are happy.

Either you or us, your choice. Everything is yours: the site, the domain and the content. If you would rather never think about hosting, updates or small changes, our website care plans handle all of it for you.
