What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Some are needed to make the site work at all. Others measure how the site is used so we can improve it. The second kind is optional, and on this site it is off until you say otherwise.

Strictly necessary cookies

These keep the site running and secure. They are set for everyone, because the site cannot work without them, and the law does not require consent for them.

• __cf_bm, set by Cloudflare, our security and content delivery provider. It tells real visitors apart from bots and expires after about 30 minutes.

That is the full list. We do not set a cookie to remember your choice below: that is stored in your browser’s local storage instead, on your device, and is never sent to us.

Analytics

We would like to know which pages people find useful and where the site is confusing. Measuring that is optional, and nothing is loaded unless you press Accept on the banner.

At the time of writing, no analytics tool is switched on for this site, so accepting currently loads nothing at all. If we do turn one on, we will name it here and describe what it collects before it goes live. Any tool we add will sit behind the same consent check, so it cannot run for anyone who has not accepted.

Fonts

Our fonts are served from this site, not from Google Fonts. Loading a page does not pass your IP address to a font provider, and no cookie is set for this.

Your choices

The banner asks you to accept. If you would rather not, you do not have to do anything, because nothing optional loads until you accept: ignoring the banner is the same as saying no. The banner will keep asking, though, so if you want it settled, use the controls below.

Those controls are also how you withdraw. If you accept and later change your mind, withdrawing takes one click and stops anything optional loading again. You can do that whenever you like, and you do not have to tell us why.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookie may stop parts of the site working.

Changes to this policy

If we add or remove anything that sets a cookie, we will update this page and the date at the top, and ask you again rather than assume your previous answer still applies.
