Ashford

Web design in Ashford

We design and build websites for businesses across Ashford and the surrounding villages. Design, build, hosting and local search, all handled in house by the people you actually speak to. Website design in Ashford, quoted as one fixed price before anything starts.

  • Same working day reply
  • One fixed price, whole job
  • You own the site and the domain

01

Designed around the enquiry

Every page has one job. We work out what that job is before designing anything, so the site has a shape rather than just a look.

02

Built to load fast

Most people meet you on a phone, on mobile data, standing up. If it takes five seconds you have lost the ones who were ready to call.

03

Yours to own and run

You get the keys, the domain in your name, and a site you can update without ringing anyone. We are here if you want us, not because you are stuck.

Sound familiar

Why your current website is not bringing in work

Most people who call us already have a website. It is rarely broken, it just is not earning anything. Four things come up again and again, and none of them are expensive to fix.

01

People land on it and go straight back to Google

It is slow on a phone, or it takes more than a few seconds to work out what you do and where you do it. Most of the traffic you already have is being wasted at that point, before anyone reads a word about the work.

02

It does not look like it belongs to a working business

No photographs of your own jobs, nothing to show you are real and local, contact details buried at the bottom. People are not judging the design, they are deciding whether to trust you with money.

03

It never comes up for what people here actually search

The site may be perfectly nice and still be invisible, because nothing on it matches the words a Ashford customer types in. That is usually a structure problem rather than a design problem.

04

You cannot change anything without asking somebody

New prices, a new service, a photograph of last week’s job. If every small edit means an email and a wait, the site slowly goes out of date, and an out of date site costs you enquiries.

If two or more of those sound like your site, they are structural rather than cosmetic, and structure is what we rebuild first.

Trading in Ashford

Why website design here is not like anywhere else

Ashford town centre high street

The fastest growing borough in Kent

Up 12.5% between the last two censuses, the highest in the county. A lot of your customers arrived recently and have no idea which local firms are any good, so they search for one. That is the whole opportunity here.

Thirty eight minutes from St Pancras

The high speed line puts London within commuting distance, which changes who your customers are and what they are used to. A site that feels dated stands out for the wrong reasons in a town full of people who work in the city.

A logistics town, so a lot of trade is business to business

The M20, Ashford International and the Channel Tunnel shape the local economy around haulage, warehousing and manufacturing. Those buyers check you properly before they call, and the site is most of that check.

Already have a site

Replacing a website you already have

Most people who call us are replacing something rather than starting from nothing. That is the easier job of the two, as long as the things you already have are handled properly. Here is what happens to each of them.

01

Your domain

The domain stays in your name

If it is already yours, nothing moves. If it is currently held by whoever built your last site, we help you get it back into your own name before anything else starts. That one thing is worth checking whoever you go with.

02

Your rankings

The pages that already earn keep earning

We look at what your current site brings in before changing any of it. Anything that already works keeps its place, and where a page has to move we point the old address at the new one so links and search results follow it across.

03

Your email

Your email is not touched

Email and the website are separate things that happen to share a domain name. Yours keeps working right through the build and on launch day, and we do not need to touch it to put a new site live.

04

Your old site

Nothing comes down until you say so

You review the new site on a private link while the old one carries on as normal. It only goes live when you have seen it and approved it, so there is never a gap where you have no website at all.

A lot of your customers
do not live here

The borough grew 12.5% in ten years, the fastest in the county. People who moved here last year have no local recommendations to fall back on, so being findable is worth more in Ashford than in a town that has not changed.

A commuter town
with London standards

Thirty eight minutes to St Pancras means plenty of residents work in London and are used to how London businesses present themselves. You do not have to match that, but a site that looks a decade old is noticed here.

Logistics shapes
the local economy

The M20, Ashford International and the Channel Tunnel put haulage, warehousing and manufacturing at the centre of trade here. A lot of enquiries come from other businesses, and they read the whole site before they ring.

We build websites for businesses right across Ashford and mid Kentfrom the ones trading on the high street to the ones selling far beyond Kent, and every one of them needs the same thinga site that brings the work in, rather than one that just looks the part.

Built in Kent

Bookings that land
while the yard is shut

Approved Commercial Hire cover Kent, Ashford included, and they needed a site that takes van bookings overnight while the yard is shut.

Every van size got its own listing, the fleet photographs are their own, and they update stock themselves as vehicles come and go. That is the same job an Ashford logistics site has to do, and we build it the same way.

How it runs

Four stages, and you
sign off every one

01
We talk
it through

What the business does, who you want calling, and what the site has to achieve. Then one fixed price for the whole job, before anything starts.

02
We design it,
you approve it

Structure first, then the look. You see it and sign it off before a line of it gets built, so there are no surprises at the end.

03
We build,
you review

Built properly, tested on real phones, then sent to you on a preview link. Revisions are part of the price, not an extra on the invoice.

04
We launch and
stay reachable

It goes live, we keep an eye on it, and you get the same phone number afterwards as you had before. Launch is the start of it, not the end.

Getting started

What we need from you

Less than people expect. The most common reason a website project stalls is the business being handed a blank page and asked to fill it in, so we do not work that way.

First

Fifteen minutes on the phone

What the business does, who you want calling, and what the site has to bring in. That is enough for us to give you one fixed price for the whole job.

Second

Whatever you already have

A logo, photographs of your own work, anything you have already written. If you have not got them, that is normal and it does not hold anything up. We work with what you can give us.

Third

Nothing else, the words are our job

We write the content and you approve it before it goes anywhere. You are reviewing something real rather than staring at an empty document, which is why our builds tend to actually finish.

Something bigger

Larger projects from £3,000

Multi location sites, custom booking or ordering, or anything that does not fit a package. We scope it and quote a fixed price first.

Afterwards

Hosting £19, care plan £49 a month

Both optional and you can cancel any time. The care plan already includes hosting, so you never pay for it twice.

Launch is not the end

What happens after your site goes live

Two different things, and we keep them separate so you never pay twice for the same thing.

Included, every package

Twelve month warranty

If anything we built stops working, we fix it free for a full twelve months from launch day. Broken forms, broken links, layout faults, anything that stops doing what it did the day you went live. That is included on every package and it is not an upsell.

Optional, from £49 a month

Care plan

Content changes, new sections, software updates, backups, uptime monitoring and priority help when you need it. Hosting is included in it, so you are not paying for that twice. Cancel any time and the site stays yours either way, because the domain is in your name.

The short version: the warranty means we fix faults. The care plan means we keep the site fresh and running. See what the care plan covers.

Before you commit

How to choose a web designer in Ashford

Six questions worth asking anyone you speak to, us included. The answers tell you more than a portfolio does, and they are the questions we would want asked if we were the ones paying.

01

Who will own the domain?

Ask it first and get the answer in writing. The domain should be registered in your business name, not the designer’s. If it is held by whoever built your last site you can be stuck paying to get your own address back, and it is far easier to sort before a build than after one.

02

What happens after launch, and what does it cost?

Every site needs updates, backups and the occasional fix. Ask what is included, for how long, and what the monthly figure is afterwards. A build price with no answer to this question usually means the answer is expensive.

03

Can you show me a site you built two years ago?

Anything looks good the week it launches. Ask for something older that is still running and still being updated, then look at whether the business has been able to keep it current on its own.

04

Will I be able to edit it myself?

Ask to be shown, not told. If changing a price or adding a photograph means emailing someone and waiting, the site will drift out of date and an out of date site quietly costs you enquiries.

05

Is this one fixed price or a day rate?

A fixed price for the whole job means the risk of it taking longer sits with the designer rather than with you. A day rate or an hourly rate means the opposite. Ask which you are being quoted.

06

What am I actually signing up to?

Watch for a monthly website subscription that never ends with you owning anything. If you stop paying and lose the site entirely, you have been renting, and after three or four years you will have paid several times what a build costs.

What our clients say about working with us

“The site finally looks as premium as the watches we sell. Clients trust it straight away, and the enquiries have been serious ones. Exactly what we needed.”
Sammi Takaloo • Crown & Quartz London
Clear price from the start, plain English throughout, and they explained every step. We were live in three weeks and the enquiries have not stopped since.
Olivia Grant • Sunvera Energy
“It finally looks the part, which matters when someone is deciding whether to trust you.”
Joe Twyman • Peptide Global
They turned our tired old website into something we are proud to send people to. We now show up on the first page for heating engineers in our area.
Jake Regan • Regan's Heating
Enquiries through the website have more than doubled. It is easy to update, easy to reach them, and genuinely local.
Jacob Hall • Approved Commercial Hire
We went from barely getting online enquiries to a steady stream of calls every week. The site loads fast and finally looks like the business we actually are.

Ashford web design questions

How much does a website cost in Ashford?

The same as anywhere else in Kent, because we do not price by postcode. Packages start at £495 for a complete five page site, £995 for up to ten pages with a blog and WhatsApp chat, and £1,995 where you need to take payments or bookings. Anything larger is quoted on what it actually involves, from £3,000. Whichever it is, you get one fixed price for the whole job before you commit, half to book and half on launch, and nothing gets added along the way. More in how much a website costs in Kent.

What if I already have a website?

That is the usual situation and it makes the job easier rather than harder. Your domain stays in your name, your email is untouched, and the pages that already bring you work keep their place, with the old addresses pointed at the new ones so links and search results follow across. We check what your current site actually earns before changing any of it. Your existing site stays up and working the whole time, and only comes down once you have seen the new one on a private link and approved it.

Do I have to write the content myself?

No, and this is where most website projects stall. We write it and you approve it, so you are reviewing something real rather than staring at an empty document. Send a logo and any photographs of your own jobs if you have them, because your own work always beats stock images. If you have not got either, that is completely normal and it does not hold the build up. We work with what you can give us and tell you honestly if something is worth photographing.

Can I update the site myself afterwards?

Yes, and it is built for that from the start. Changing a price, adding a service or putting up a photograph of last week’s job are all things you can do yourself in a few minutes, without ringing anyone or waiting on us. We show you how before we hand it over. We are here if you want us, not because you are stuck, and that is a deliberate difference from the way a lot of sites are sold.

How long will it take?

Seven days for a starter site, two to three weeks for most, and four to six weeks for something with payments or bookings in it. The honest variable is not the build, it is how quickly photographs and approvals come back from you. Week one is the conversation and the structure, then we design and you sign that off before anything gets built. Nothing goes live until you have reviewed it. More in how long it takes to build a website.

Who owns the website and the domain?

You do. The domain is registered in your business name rather than ours, and the site is yours to take with you if you ever move on. Worth asking that of anyone you speak to, because it is not always the case and it is awkward and sometimes expensive to unpick later. Ask for the answer in writing before you pay a deposit to anybody.

What happens after the site goes live?

Every build carries a twelve month warranty, so if anything we made stops working we fix it free. That covers broken forms, broken links and layout faults, anything that stops doing what it did on launch day. Separately, a care plan from £49 a month covers content changes, new sections, software updates, backups and uptime monitoring, and it includes hosting so you never pay for that twice. The care plan is optional and cancels any time. The warranty is not optional and is not an upsell.

Can I see websites you have built in Kent?

Yes. Approved Commercial Hire cover Kent, Ashford included, and their site takes van bookings around the clock. Their case study is here, so you can look at the work rather than take our word for it. We have also built for a heating engineer, an electrician, a van hire yard and a watch dealer across the county.

Where are you based?

In Kent, and we cover Ashford, Tenterden, Charing, Wye and the villages across the borough. Most of a project runs over calls and email wherever you are, which keeps things moving. If you would rather do the first session face to face we will come to you, and it does not change the price. The phone is answered by the people who build the sites, not a call centre.

Do you work with my kind of business?

Almost certainly. We have built for a heating engineer, an electrician, a watch dealer, a van hire yard, a used vehicle dealer, a window and door firm, a solar installer and a full online shop. The trades look different from the outside but the questions turn out to be much the same: who do you want calling, what makes them trust you, and what do they need to see before they get in touch.

What happens if I want to leave?

You take the site and the domain with you. There is no lock in, the care plan cancels any time, and we do not hold your domain to keep you. That is deliberate, because a business that stays because leaving is painful is not a recommendation. If you do go we will help hand things over cleanly rather than making it difficult.
