We are not VAT registered, so the price above is the price you pay. Cancel with thirty days’ notice and it ends. You keep the site and the domain either way.
What is actually included
What our website hosting includes
Hosting is usually sold as a word rather than a service. Here is exactly what our Kent web hosting does, so you can hold it against anyone else’s.
Daily off-site backups
Your site is copied every day and the copy is kept somewhere other than the server it came from. If the server fails, the backup has not failed with it.
SSL kept current
Your certificate is installed and renewed before it lapses. An expired certificate puts a browser warning in front of every visitor, and it is the most common reason a small site suddenly looks broken.
Software and security updates
WordPress core, the theme and the plugins are kept up to date. Out of date plugins are how most small business sites get hacked, and it is entirely preventable.
Uptime monitoring
The site is checked around the clock. If it stops responding we find out from the monitor, not from you.
Content changes
On the care plan, send us the change and we make it. New prices, new opening hours, a new member of staff, a new page.
Priority help, same working day

We are a Kent web design company that hosts the sites we build. That is the difference that matters when something goes wrong.
A large host has never seen your website. They can tell you the server is fine, and it usually is, which leaves you to work out the rest. We already know how your site is put together, so we can look at the actual problem instead of ruling things out.
You are not obliged to host with us. Every site we build is yours outright, and it will run anywhere. Plenty of clients take the hosting simply because it is one less company to deal with.
What you are not signing up to

- No holding your site or domain if you leave.
Hosting is the part nobody thinks about until the site is down and no one is picking up the phone.
Moving an existing site
Already have a site somewhere else
Moving hosting sounds risky and mostly is not. We do it in the evening, we keep the old one running until the new one is proven, and we do not charge for it.
1. We copy it first
We take a full copy of the site and stand it up on our server before anything changes. Your live site carries on as normal while we check it over.
2. We test it properly
Every page, every form, every link. If something was already broken at the old host we tell you before we switch, not after.
3. We switch the domain
Done in the evening so any gap lands when nobody is looking. Your email is untouched. We stay on it until it has settled.
You keep control of your domain name throughout. If you do not have the login for it we will help you get it back, because that is worth having whoever hosts you.

How much is web hosting in Kent?
Ours is £19 a month for hosting on its own, or £49 a month for the care plan, which includes hosting along with backups, updates, monitoring and content changes. We are not VAT registered, so those are the amounts you pay. There is no charge to move an existing site to us.
Do I have to host with you if you build my site?
No. The site is yours either way and your warranty stands. You will need hosting somewhere though, and the care plan is the simplest way to have it handled without managing another supplier.
What happens to my site if I stop paying?
You give thirty days’ notice and it ends. You keep the site, the domain and the content. We hand over a full copy so whoever hosts you next has everything they need.
Is my website backed up?
On the care plan, every day, and the backup is stored away from the server it came from. That second part matters: a backup sitting on the same machine as the site is not much use when that machine is the thing that failed.
How quickly do you respond if my site goes down?
We are monitoring it around the clock, so in most cases we know before you do. On the care plan you get priority help the same working day.
Can you host a site you did not build?
Yes, and it is common. We copy it across, test it on our server, then switch the domain over in the evening. There is no charge for the move.
Do you host email as well?
We keep email separate from your website hosting on purpose. If the two are tied together, a problem with one becomes a problem with both, and email is the one you cannot be without. We will set it up and point it in the right direction.
Where are the servers?
In the UK. Your visitors are in Kent, so the site is served from close by, which is one of the simpler things you can do for how fast a page feels.
