A Maidstone scrap metal firm
Page one for
the searches that bring work
Kent Smart Recycling collect scrap metal across Maidstone and Kent. Nearly all of their work starts with a phone call, so the site we built for them is pointed at one thing: the call.
In the 28 days to 26 September 2026, Google Search Console had them at an average position of 2.9 for “scrap metal collection maidstone”, 3.2 for “scrap yard near me” and 3.4 for “scrap metal kent”.

What we do
What SEO work actually involves
- A page for each serviceSomeone searching for one thing wants a page about that thing. A single page called Services ranks for nothing, so every service gets its own page, written for the search behind it.
- A page for each town you coverWritten as real sentences about the place, not a block listing every town in Kent. Google treats a list of place names as keyword stuffing, and so do customers.
- Titles and descriptions that fitWe have audited shops with meta descriptions running to 446 characters. Google shows about 160, so every one was cut off mid sentence in the results. We write them to fit.
- Pages that load fastImages saved as WebP rather than heavy JPEG and PNG files, and no page builders weighing the site down. Speed is part of being found and part of being chosen.
- Answers to the questions people askEvery site we build has questions and answers on it. People type questions into Google, and a clear answer on your page is what gets shown back to them.
- Rankings kept through a rebuildIf you already rank for something, a new site should not cost you it. We keep the pages that earn traffic and redirect anything that has to move.
Fixing what is there
Most sites are losing to small faults
Before writing anything new, we look at what is already on the site. On one live shop we found a homepage heading that was just the brand name, product photos with nothing Google could read, four category pages with word for word identical copy, and a blog of twelve posts that were really three articles rewritten.
None of that needs a new website. It needs someone to find it and fix it, and it is usually the cheapest SEO there is.
We wrote up everything we found on that shop, with the business anonymised: what we found on one online shop.
Google Business Profile
We help you own it, rather than hold it for you
Your Google Business Profile matters for local searches, and plenty of agencies offer to set it up for you. We would rather you did it yourself, with us beside you.
If we ran the phone verification, the profile would always be tied to our number. It should be verified on your own phone and sit under your own control, so it stays yours whoever builds your website.
So we walk you through it step by step. Reviews are the single biggest lever on a local listing, and only your customers can give you those.

What it costs
Quoted in writing before anything starts
Every website we build has the groundwork done from day one: a page per service, titles and descriptions written to fit, fast pages and local search built in. That is part of the build, not an extra.
Ongoing SEO, for sites that need to climb past established competitors, is quoted separately and in writing, so you know exactly what is included before you agree to anything.
The honest bit
What SEO cannot do
Nobody can promise you position one, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Where you rank depends on who else is competing for the same searches, and that changes.
It also takes months rather than weeks. Two things decide where you appear: whether your site has a real page behind each search, and whether other sites mention you. The first is our job. The second builds over time.
Before you commit, we will look at the searches that matter to you and tell you honestly what they look like.

Questions
SEO questions
How long does SEO take?
Months rather than weeks. A new page can be picked up by Google within days, but climbing past established competitors takes time and depends on how many there are. We will tell you what your searches look like before you commit.
Do you do local SEO for towns across Kent?
Yes. We build a real page for each area you cover, written about the place rather than listing town names. It is how we have built our own pages for Maidstone, Medway, Canterbury, Ashford, Tunbridge Wells, Dartford, Folkestone, Dover and Thanet.
Will you set up my Google Business Profile?
We walk you through it rather than doing it for you. It should be verified on your own phone and stay under your control, so it remains yours whoever builds your website.
Can you guarantee page one?
No, and nobody honestly can. Rankings depend on the competition for each search. What we can do is make sure every search that matters has a proper page behind it, and tell you plainly where you stand.
Is SEO included with a new website?
The groundwork is: a page per service, titles and descriptions that fit, fast pages and local search built in from day one. Ongoing work to climb past established competitors is quoted separately.
How do you report on SEO?
In plain English. Which searches you appear for, where you sit, and what has changed since last time.
Can a new website hurt my rankings?
It can if it is done carelessly. We keep the pages that already earn traffic and redirect anything that has to move, so your rankings come with you.
