Case study

A website that sells luxury watches with quiet confidence

Crown & Quartz are London luxury watch specialists who buy, sell and source Rolex, Audemars Piguet and rare collector pieces. Selling watches worth thousands to people online takes real trust. We designed and built them a website that earns it from the first scroll.

The brief

A premium business that needed a premium website

Crown & Quartz deal in Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Cartier and rare collector references, buying, selling and sourcing for clients across the UK and beyond. When someone is spending serious money on a watch, the website has to feel as trustworthy and considered as the pieces themselves.

The challenge

Selling high value online

  • Watches worth thousands, bought by people who have never met you
  • Trust and authenticity have to be obvious, instantly
  • Three different jobs in one: buying, selling and sourcing
  • A discreet, personal service that a template cannot convey
  • A brand that has to look the part next to the watches

What we built

A site that earns the sale

  • A calm, premium design in deep green and gold
  • Authenticity and provenance messaging front and centre
  • A dedicated page for each way to work: buy, sell, source
  • Personal contact one tap away, answered around the clock
  • Real, in-house photography of the actual stock

What we built

Every detail chosen to build trust

This was a premium web design project with one clear goal: make a high-value stranger feel safe enough to pick up the phone. Every design decision points at that.

A design worthy of the watches

Deep green and gold, an elegant serif and generous space. Restrained, confident and calm, so the design flatters the pieces instead of shouting over them.

Three clear ways to deal

Buying, selling and sourcing are three different customers. Each gets its own page, its own explanation and its own clear next step, so nobody has to guess where they fit.

Trust, front and centre

Authenticity guaranteed on every piece, fair market pricing, and a five-star reviews page. The things a nervous buyer needs to see are the first things they do.

A conversation, one tap away

Call, WhatsApp and a personal enquiry form sit on every page, with a sticky call button on mobile. However a client wants to reach out, the route is already there.

The collection, shown honestly

A gallery of real pieces, photographed in-house, exactly as they are. No stock imagery. Buyers see the actual stock, which is exactly what a serious collector wants.

Details that feel considered

A gentle scroll animation and a live counter of pieces sold. Small, quiet touches that most sites skip, and the kind of care a discerning buyer notices.

The detail

Three services, three clear paths

A watch dealer is really three businesses at once. The person buying their first Rolex is not the person selling a Submariner or hunting a rare reference. The homepage sorts them quickly, and each service page speaks only to its own client.

Mobile first

Designed for a phone, then a desk

Plenty of luxury buyers browse on their phone late at night. So the mobile layout leads with the collection and keeps a sticky call button pinned to the bottom of the screen the whole way down. The moment they are ready, calling takes one tap.

The premium feel carries across every size. The serif headings, the deep green and the gold accents all hold together on a small screen, so the brand never feels watered down on mobile.

That is how we approach every build, from a trade website to a high-end shopfront. This one leaned on our online shop and web development thinking to get the enquiry flow and the custom touches right.

How we worked

From brief to live, without the jargon

We started with the business, not the browser. Who is the client? What makes them trust a dealer? What is the difference between a buyer, a seller and a collector on the hunt? The answers shaped the structure, the words and the design.

1. Listen

We learned the market, the pieces and the clients. The three service pages and the trust-first structure came straight out of that conversation.

2. Design and write

We designed the brand look and wrote every word, from the hero line to the FAQs. Crown & Quartz reviewed it all and we refined until it felt right.

3. Build and launch

A fast, hand built site with the animation and enquiry flow set up and tested on real phones, then launched on their own domain, ready to grow.

Questions

Websites for luxury brands and dealers: your questions

Yes. The Crown & Quartz site in this case study is one of ours, and the same approach works for any high-end business: jewellers, galleries, showrooms and specialist retailers. A premium design, trust built in, and a clear path from browsing to a personal conversation.

Trust, above everything. Real photography of the actual items, clear messaging about authenticity and pricing, genuine reviews, and an easy, discreet way to get in touch. The design itself has to match the price point, because a cheap looking site makes an expensive purchase feel risky.

Yes. Not every business needs a full online checkout. For high-value or one-off pieces, an enquiry-led model often works better: the visitor sees the piece, then speaks to a person. We build what suits how you actually sell, whether that is a full online shop or a considered enquiry flow.

We are a Kent studio and most of our clients are local, but we build for businesses anywhere in the UK. Crown & Quartz are London based, and the process was exactly the same: we listen, design, write and build, for one clear fixed price agreed up front.

A site of this size is usually a few weeks from first chat to launch, depending on how quickly photos and approvals come back. Everything is yours: the site, the domain and the content. If you would rather not think about hosting and updates, our website care plans handle all of it.
